We don’t do 60-day Insanity Workouts.
Some people like that kind of extreme stuff—the Paul Ryan/ “no pain-no gain”/ turn-your-core-to-stone-and-push-your-limbs-till-they-snap-in-two stuff. It’s their thing, and God bless ‘em for it. It’s just not our thing.
We like to write. So we’ve discovered our own version of the Insanity Workout; it’s called NaBloPoMo.
That’s right: NaBloPoMo—the rather curious abbreviation for National Blog Posting Month. (Man, they have a month for everything, don’t they? For example, did you know that January was National Glaucoma Awareness Month? Or that October is the National Pharmacists Month?)
As luck would have it, National Blog Posting Month is… happening right now! Yep: November is National Blog Posting Month, and we’re going to honor this historic event with a promise: we’re going to try to post something to this space every day for a month.
Now then, we’d like to emphasize two words from that last sentence:
- “Try”: We’re certainly going to give the ol’ yeoman’s effort to update our blog every day. We might not succeed, but we’ll give it a whirl, darn it!
- “Something”: We said we’ll post “something” every day. Those “somethings” may vary in length (and— let’s face it—quality). Some posts may be short, some may be longer, some may be just right. Some will be things we’ve written previously, in galaxies far, far away. Some may even be written by guest contributors. But we will try (there’s that word again) to make sure all of our posts stay true to the mission of this blog: to celebrate stories in all forms.
So, posting every day for thirty days— a daunting task, to be sure. Then again: we already finished one, with this announcement. (I know that’s a little cheap, but if you want to read something a tad meatier, check out yesterday’s post about “Crimes and Punishments” in Greek mythology.)
Only twenty-nine more posts to go. No Pain!
