Article 11: Government Notice

People of Forcastle, what is the reason for this revolt? Your government is doing all that they can. The problem is not the hoarding of food, the problem is its utter absence. Food is too scarce to properly distribute it, currently. It has been nigh impossible to get food from the farms in the provinces down to the city. Even though neighboring countries have distributed some food to us, recent flooding in the provinces has made it hard to get it here. Your government is doing all it can to protect you and to make sure that you are looked out for.
They have looked at every alternative. After considering everything they have decided that returning to the Eastern Empire will be best for everyone. We do not want all of our work to be in vain. We do not want Vision to go to waste.
However, We also understand your anger. Vision was built on the backs of wealthy patrons, but it was you the workers that sacrificed your blood so that it could triumph and prosper. We understand that all of you have given up much. We also understand your anger towards said wealthy patrons. The Eastern Empire has promised to give us a level of autonomy, we will not be totally under their thumb. With our freedom, we will listen to you and Fredrick Jarte. We will impose a wealth tax.
We also know that you are angry that Vision is about to be re-annexed by the Eastern Empire. You have pointed to all that was sacrificed to bring us here. But, do not let our past shackle us. No matter what happens, you have still spent your blood and tears. Nothing will change that. We must look forward, towards our future. We love Vison. But, what transcends our love for Vision is our love for our people. We will not let you starve.

Here at the People’s Advocate, our main concern is for the common man. Times are tough and we urge everyone to have hope and stay safe. Our government will protect us. Everyone is a little scared right now. We understand that. However, we need to trust our government. They have led us right so far, we must believe that they will continue to do so in the future.
As people’s heads cool and we allow ourselves to be re-annexed by the Eastern Empire, we will try to continue to serve you and bring you the news, undistorted by emotion and hypocrisy. We hope that you will continue to support us. Still, many are angry because of our imminent re-annexation by the Eastern Empire currently. They attack this paper because of our beliefs. We hope that we will be able to continue, but that is not assured.
