Letter of Utopia
Febuary 25, 1779
Dear citizens of Vision,
Friends, citizens, the tyrants have been driven out of Vision, however, all is not yet right. National elections have not yet happened. We do not yet have a government that’s actually of the people. To completely be an egalitarian society, a utopia. We need to truly represent everyone. not just those that live in the capital. Vision was created for everyone. Our current form of government does not reflect that. We need to hold elections so that the government can reflect everyone, especially those from the provinces.
People are hungry. People are starving. Creating a new government does not automatically fix all of our problems. There are still shortages of food. We need to focus on the people. As many have said, Vision is the country for the common man. We need to support everyone in Vision and make sure that everyone is well-fed.
We rose up not once but twice for this Utopia. Despite the food shortages, we must remain sure in our path so that it may become a true utopia in its entirety. We must defend it even from ourselves. We have been divided. Many of us have conflicting ideas and motives. This is a part of democracy, however, we cannot let differing opinions divide us. We must remember our rationality. We will not let our freedom be taken away. No longer are we constrained by the hands of Fredrick Jarte, Lady Lila, and the so-called ‘reformed’ aristocrat Mordon Genette. (Even though Genette does lead the natinal guard.) We are now free to rule for ourselves. We will make mistakes. We will fall. We will even cause ruination against us. But, at least they will be our mistakes.
But, when voting for our new leaders we must remember that we also do not need a government of reactionaries. We must all fully commit if we are to survive. As I have said previously, we must make way for differing opinions, but that does not mean that we can allow our government to be tainted. We must make it known that we need lawyer revolutionaries in government.
We must also think about the newly granted freedoms of the speech and the press. This is a step in the right direction. If we are to be truly free, we must allow all of us to experience our newfound freedoms. This freedom of speech will have drawbacks and consequences, yes, but so does every other decision we make. Even though some people may now have extra control of the news, we will still be informed. And if we are informed, we can do anything. Together, we will be able to struggle and overcome the trials that are stopping us from achieving a perfect Vision.
Yes, times will be tough. We have fought. We have won. Yet the true terror is inside us. We are all fallible, we all will fail. But, we can rise. Throughout all of the trials and tribulations that we will meet up ahead, we can make it through. Here in Vision, we are a people apart. We will succeed because we are dedicated. We will not rest until we all are free. We will not rest until we meet, Utopia. Further the revolution.
