Visions Triumph

March 22, 1779

By: Professor Stricket

(This paper is now under new management)

We would, first and foremost, like to thank all of you for electing us. We have all campaigned and you have decided that we would be the best people to represent you. We are pleased to be able to serve you. This will be a return to revolutionary ideals. We will neither abandon you nor betray you. The people that you elected are all loyal to Vision. We are the people of Vision, the common people, the poor, and the outcasts. It is for us that Vision was built for and it was also you who Vision was made for. Together, we will further the revolution.

A fundamental value of Vision is that we are all created free and equal. We all need to have our basic human rights satisfied. In Vision, no one is supposed to go hungry or go a night without a roof. Vision is a place for all. It is a place for the people, a place for the common man. Because of this, we will be ensuring that the common people, the poor, and the laborers, the people for whom Vision was created, are well fed. We will start organizing weekly deposits of money. These are for the people, not the aristocrats. These weekly deposits will help ensure that no one goes hungry. The way this will work is that everyone will be expected to give a certain portion of their income to taxes. Because we are a new government, we cannot do everything right away. However, we hope that this will help us get off on the right foot with the people of Vision.

We hope that everyone will see our government as a return to the fundamental ideals of Vision. As we have said previously, Vision was built for the common man. As such, we will be propping up the common man and furthering Vision. Vision has always been about the hope that the common people will be able to ascend and work their way up to the top. That’s our Vision, right, to be able to ascend even though people tell us we can’t. We are the common people and we will not be shackled by fat and lazy aristocrats nor will not be shackled by other countries, countries that are run by, and for the elite. We will triumph.

We are no longer beholden to the aristocrats. We are moving on without them. We will let them domonate us no longer. We are free, but we must continue to fight for our freedom. The rich, and the lazy are still out there. They did some terrible things to us. We cannot allow this to slide. They will be found and captured. And then delt with, swiftly and violently. If you find or hear of anyone with old power or old money, come to us. We will be sure to reward you.

Also, to ensure that Vision remains a utopia, we must perform certain actions. We understand that this will be a big shift, but it is a nessesary one. This entails stamping out such things as slander, rumors, and acts of sedition. This will be a big step for Vision, but it is a necessary one. We have only recently learned that Jamile King was not a traitor. It appears that the paper Last Remarks was slandering her. Why her specifically, we do not know. We have noticed people’s concerns about the power that newspapers have over the people. We have decided to rectify this. From now on, everyone who prints a newspaper must have a ‘Printers License.’ We will give the License to different newspaper publishers if we approve of what they are publishing. If they do not have a License, they will not be able to publish any more papers. Last Remarks will obviously not be getting a Printers License.

We understand that this is all unprecedented. However, this is necessary for Visions continued progress. Freedom of speech and press are not necessary for a democracy. We had jumped the gun on that one. But, despite all of this, we know many of you will be apprehensive about this. So, we will be granted a license to every paper that is currently operating. We do not wish to disturb the public order. We want everyone in Vision to be happy.
