We would, first and foremost, like to thank all of you for electing us. We have all campaigned and you have decided that we would be the best people to represent you. We are pleased to be able to serve you. This will be a return to revolutionary ideals. We will neither abandon you nor betray you. The people that you elected are all loyal to Vision. We are the people of Vision, the common people, the poor, and the outcasts. It is for us that Vision was built for and it was also you who Vision was made for. Together, we will further the revolution.

The elections have indeed taken place. Due to pressures from the people, all members of the government have stepped down and have decided not to run for reelection. All except for Eliza Wellington. Vision has been changing. These elections are a sign of that. Everything about the event was unprecedented, from the people elected, to the public’s response, to even the fact that we were having elections at all. The elections may very well go down in history as a turning point in Vision.

Recently, new elections have been announced, this is, of course, because public opinion has turned against those currently in power. This seems logical. Vision is structured to be a country based on the will of the people. If they revoke their support, the government must fall. Yet, things are not at all as cut and dry as all of that. Just under a month ago we were all discussing the freedom of the press and speech. We learned that one of the drawbacks of our newly granted freedoms is the influence of the rich on our news. As has been demonstrated, newspapers have been growing, not only in popularity but also in power. If you can control the newspapers, you can essentially control the course of Vision. We cannot let this happen to us, to our people. Vision must stay true.

Due to the recent shift in public opinion, we have sped up the pace of our elections. Our first, as you put it, “real” elections will take place a week from today. There will be two delegates from each province, as well as seven from the capital. We hope that this will mollify you and that it will curb your wrath. We are only passionate revolutionaries, we were not meant to be leaders. We do not exactly know what it was that we did to deserve our being condemned in this way. We had hoped that we had proved yourself earlier.
