My Writing Process for the Newspapers of Vision.

Originally, I wrote out the entire series in my notebook. However, due to a mix of bad handwriting, incoherent plotlines, and articles that were too short, I had to begin again from the start.

For the first few articles, I used my notebook as a rough sketch. I lengthened them and added more characters and events, but they were still based on my original drafts. However, eventually, I realized that all of my changes had made my original outline useless. I had changed so much that I needed to make a new draft.

What I did was outline every single one of my articles. I wrote down which newspaper would write the article. Afterward, I would write a single sentence about what would end up happening in that article. This was the extent of my outlining and you may see an example below.

People’s Advocate: the people finally revolt, encourage people to act for the government. Article 15

Morning Star: much violence, much destruction. Article 16

Vision’s Triumph: after the revolution, a new government formed of revolutionaries. (it owns this newspaper.) Article 17

Daley Blurb: people from the provinces didn’t participate in revolution what do they think; introduce Gareth Masou. Article 18

I write each article based on these relatively vague speculations and then start a round of editing. I check my facts, make sure that everything is consistent. I also see if any new characters were named and either make a note to include them in future articles or switch them out for an already established character. Afterward, I use spell check. Then, since I am notoriously bad at spelling, I use Grammarly to catch all of my mistakes.

After that, it is ready to be scheduled so that it can be sent out onto the website.
